Kobe Steel Ltd said Tuesday it is planning to establish steel plants in India with two state-run companies by providing its technologies for making use of low-quality iron ores as raw materials and for reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
In an attempt to expand its business in India, the Japanese steel giant is holding talks with Steel Authority of India Ltd to set up one or two plants and produce up to 1 million tons annually. It is also negotiating with NMDC Ltd, a major resource developer, over a plant capable of producing 500,000 tons
